    Suzanne M. Stevens, a resident of Barrington since 2001, practices across the spectrum of civil litigation. After joining Zukowski, Rogers, Flood & McArdle in 2008, Stevens has focused her law practice primarily on:

    • insurance defense

    For many years Stevens gained an extensive understanding of insurance defense as an in-house trial attorney for two major insurance companies. While practicing in Southern California, Stevens focused on automobile and premises liability. Earlier in her career, she also was involved in general civil litigation matters including attorney and insurance agent malpractice defense.

    Stevens has tried and arbitrated many jury and non-jury civil cases during her career. She is an arbitrator for the 22nd Judicial Circuit Court in McHenry County. In 2006 Stevens also became certified as a mediator through a program at DePaul University College of Law.

    A native of Chicago, Stevens moved to Connecticut and graduated from high school in Stamford, Conn., before attending Mount Holyoke College in western Massachusetts and the University of Connecticut School of Law. She enjoys tennis, gardening and reading.

    PRIOR EMPLOYMENT

    While working as a legal assistant for a Wall Street law firm that was litigating cases involving the synthetic nonsteroidal estrogen DES, Stevens became interested in pursuing a career in law. She also interned at a legal aid society as a student at Mount Holyoke College.

    CIVIC AND CHARITABLE

    In May 2011, Stevens served as an allocation panel volunteer for the United Way of Greater McHenry County. The panel made recommendations for the allocation of funds to four designated McHenry County charitable organizations. Stevens formerly volunteered her services as legal counsel, pro bono, for the Barrington Junior Women’s Club and as the chancellor for St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. She also served on the vestry of St. Mark’s Church.
