Farrell Serves as Moderator at McHenry Finance Forum

April 5, 2011

Ryan A. Farrell, a CPA and a business and transactional law partner at Zukowski, Rogers, Flood & McArdle, moderated a March 10 finance forum at the Shah Center in McHenry. Co-sponsors of the event were the McHenry County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) Business Growth & Development Committee and the Illinois Small Business Development Center.

The forum detailed the importance of financing packages; the roles of certified public accountants, attorneys, and management teams; how to prepare for growth, expansion, or acquisition; and key tax considerations. The day focused on the needs of business owners with revenues of less than $50 million.

Breakout sessions addressed Small Business Administration matters such as SBA-backed loans, the Small Business Job Act, Export Assistance Loans, Veteran and Military Community Loans and Special Purpose Loans. Also included was an overview of commercial banking topics such as senior debt lending, cash management products and other useful services. Two other sessions focused on conduit financing as a way to enhance senior debt borrowing and on generating liquidity through private equity investment or acquisition.

Farrell, a longtime Crystal Lake resident, knows the businesses and the people of McHenry County. He has represented clients in the banking, manufacturing and real estate development industries. Farrell also practices in the estate trust and tax group at Zukowski, Rogers, Flood & McArdle, the largest law firm in McHenry County, Illinois.
