Farrell Elected to Crystal Lake District 47 School Board

Crystal Lake voters elected Ryan P. Farrell, 32, to the Elementary District 47 Board of Education on April 5, 2011. A March 15 Daily Herald editorial endorsed Farrell, citing his “experience in leadership roles with several community organizations.” The Crystal Lake-based Northwest Herald also endorsed Farrell, who serves as a Republican precinct committeeman.

During his campaign, Farrell told voters he wanted to create the best possible and fiscally responsible public education experience for his children and the Crystal Lake community. His goals include improving classroom technology and tying teacher pay to performance when feasible. He joins the school board with two re-elected members, Nancy Gonsiorek and Rob Fetzner.

Farrell graduated from Crystal Lake South High School, studied accountancy at the University of Illinois, and earned his juris doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. He is a partner in Zukowski, Rogers, Flood & McArdle, the largest law firm in McHenry County, Illinois.

Farrell, a CPA, is a business and transactional lawyer who also practices local government, estate, trust and tax law. He is married to Amy Farrell and is the father of two children, Brady, 4, and Luke, 1.
